Dariusz Motyka is a UK-based care entrepreneur, operator, and Co-Founder of Blue Angel Care — an award-winning homecare provider supporting people to live safely and independently at home.

His journey began on the front line: in people's homes, on early shifts, learning what good care actually looks like at the point of delivery. Over twenty years he has moved through registered management, operations, governance, directorship and ownership — building one of the South of England's most recognised homecare groups along the way.

That trajectory matters. It means his thinking is grounded in operational reality, not theory. He understands the rota, the on-call phone at 11pm, the missed visit at 7am, the CQC inspection at 9, and the P&L meeting at 4. He has built systems that hold up under all four.

His current focus is the future of homecare: private-pay growth, technology-enabled care, falls prevention, stronger governance, better use of data, and building leadership teams capable of delivering consistently high standards across multiple branches.

The premise is simple. Care businesses must be kind and safe and well-led and commercially sustainable. One without the others does not last.

What I do

Four areas where I add real weight.

The themes I return to across every business, every branch, and every conversation that's actually worth having about care.

01

Care business growth

Scaling care businesses past the £1m wall, opening new branches that perform from month one, and shifting the mix toward private-pay without losing soul. Growth that the operations, the regulator, and the team can all stand behind.

02

Governance & CQC

Treating CQC as an evidence operation, not a periodic compliance exercise. Building the weekly cadence, the data, and the documentation that makes a "Good" or "Outstanding" rating a by-product of how the business actually runs.

03

Technology-enabled care

Putting the right tools in the right hands — falls detection, remote monitoring, digital care planning, CRM. Technology that actually reduces hospital admissions, improves visibility, and makes carers' lives easier. Not technology for show.

04

Leadership & operations

Building leadership teams that can hold standards across multiple branches. Accountability frameworks, the weekly rhythms, the right metrics, and the uncomfortable conversations — all the unglamorous work that makes scale possible.

Blue Angel Care

The proof.

Blue Angel Care is an award-winning homecare provider supporting people across Hampshire, Berkshire, and Surrey to live safely and independently at home.

Co-founded with Zul Mamon, the business has grown from a single branch into one of the South of England's most recognised homecare groups — built on a refusal to accept that commercial success and exceptional care are somehow in tension.

The recognition that follows isn't decoration. It's external validation of an operating model that puts evidence, technology, and leadership at the heart of how care actually gets delivered.

Writing on the business of care.

Occasional notes on growth, governance, and operational excellence in homecare. Written for operators, by an operator.

Advisory & Speaking

Selective engagement.

Open to a small number of advisory and speaking opportunities each year where the work genuinely benefits from an operator's perspective — not a consultant's.

Typically: care providers navigating a growth inflection point, founders preparing for CQC inspections, investors assessing care-sector businesses, and conferences looking for a speaker who's actually run the business they're talking about.

Beyond the business

The human layer.

Care is a long game. The things that make the work sustainable matter as much as the operational systems that make it scalable.

Volleyball & sport

Actively involved with Basingstoke Volleyball Club. Volleyball, football, tennis, badminton — sport as a discipline, not a hobby.

Family

Husband and father to three. The reason none of the rest of it matters if it doesn't get balanced properly.

Poland & care investment

Following senior care investment opportunities across Poland. The demographic picture there mirrors the UK's a decade earlier.

Asia & travel

Particular interest in China and the wider region — how other healthcare systems are handling the same demographic pressures we face here.
